Growing and Maintenance Tips

Acorus prefers to grow in fertile, constantly moist, acidic soil. However, it will tolerate a wide range of conditions as long as moisture is constantly available. It will even grow in standing water up to 5" deep. If the soil dries out, the tips of the leaf blades will brown and be unsightly. In most parts of the country Acorus can be grown in full sun. In warmer inland areas, however, some shade should be provided. Propagate by division only.
